Today we are going to read a beautiful poem named ‘Hope’ is the thing with feathers – Written by Emily Dickenson. let’s start reading the poem: Hope is the thing with feathers - That perches in the soul - And sings the tune without the words - And never stops – at all - In the above four lines the poet is talking about hope as if the hope is a bird which has feathers and alights in the soul and sings the tunes without the words. It never stops at all but keeps on singing and singing. Coming to the next four lines the poet says : And sweetest – in the Gale – is heard – And sore must be the storm - That could abash the little Bird That kept so many warm - Here the poet says that very strong wind is blowing but still the sweetest song is heard. If a storm could quite this little bird, then it must have been very dangerous storm or a painful disaster.
