Students let’s do some language study. I will show you some sentences you have to underline the verbs and choose the correct options from the given brackets.Tea: First sentence: Margie even wrote about it (Present / past tense) Students:- Ma’am here Verb is wrote and tense is past tense.Tea: second sentence: Today Tommy found a new book.Students:- Verb is found, and tense is past tense.Tea: Third sentence: My father knows as much as my teacher.Students:- Verb – knows, tense – present tense.Teacher:- Good ! Let’s do the same exercise with singular and plural.Tea: Margie was scornful (Singular / plural) Students:- Verb – was, it is in singular form. Tea: This is the old kind of school. Students:- Verb – is, it is in singular form. Tea: And the teachers were people. Students:- Verb – were, in plural form. Teacher:- Well done! Here we see that verb forms show tense, number etc. The verb form changes according to the subject. A verb form which is decided by and changes according to the subject of the sentence is known as a finite verb.
